To correct topping off of the ball, keep your eyes down until impact. The primary cause of topping the ball (grazing the top of the ball or hitting it too high) is looking up too soon. Once you set up your shot and take aim, keep your head down until after you hit the ball. Your head should not rise until you are into your follow-through.
